ARGH!

I have no way to get pictures to my blog at the moment. My computer is in the shop. :( Yes, it's killing me. I've missed one day so far, but I made up for it. Eventually I'll get them posted. I'm using my 7 year old's computer for this much, but it's an extremely frustrating process...

365.19

I hate my computer. Windows Vista ain't no 'Mojave.' I finally called the warranty company today about the cooling fan not cooling and the dvd drive not driving. Since I bought it at CompUSA, and CompUSA no longer exists, I have to send the stupid thing in for service. The box will arrive in 3 business days, and it will take up to 10 business days to get it back. Ugh. So, I'm moving all my stuff over to portable drives and other computers, and hoping that between Aiden's computer and my phone I'll be able to last the two weeks plus that I'll be without the stress inducing machine that somehow, I just can't live without. But I'll tell you one thing. When it comes back, it's getting XP!
And yes, I'm IMming my Sister in this particular shot. :)

Crop on Saturday!

365.18 Bonus

Just because I really, really, really like this picture!

365.18

I'm so showing my age, but do you remember the ads for Virginia Slims cigarettes? "You've come a long way, Baby?" Mark found this pager in his office and brought it in for Aiden to play with...I saw it sitting there and kind of laughed. That's how I used to have to contact him at work. And then he'd have to call me back. Now we have the phone technology that would allow us to video conference, if we really wanted to. Amazing. All this in less than 15 years...probably even less than that. We've come a long way. Baby. ;)

365.16 & 365.17

365.16: Today was Aiden's birthday party. We had 22 kids and 11 adults here to celebrate! We ordered 12 pizzas, and ended up with 6 leftover (there's one in the bottom drawer, too!). How is this possible??? I guess the kids were having too much fun playing to bother eating. I do this all the time, though. Panic that I don't have enough and end up with too much. Guess there's a lesson here, huh? (But I have to say I LOVE my refrigerator!!!)

365.17: Aiden's 7th birthday. :) I took this picture with my iPhone at a traffic light. I have a feeling this phone is going to be an equal mix of good and bad...it can make me more productive, but there's sure a lot of fun stuff, too.
Isn't Aiden just too cute for words???

365.12, 365.13, 365.14, 365.15

Yeah, I know. I'm behind. I have a birthday party to host tomorrow with about 36 people, (so far!) coming. I've kept up with the taking, just not the uploading and posting! So...to get my Sister to lay off...here we go!

365.12 is entitled "BAD DOG." He totally knows he's not supposed to be on the couch, and you can see it! Bad dog, Fish. (The beautiful girly blanket that he's laying on DISOBEDIENTLY was made for me by my totally awesome, yet nagging, Sister.)

365.13: UGH. TAKS. the death knell for Texas education. But as long as we HAVE to do it, I guess we might as well just deal with it. Tuesday night was TAKS night at the kids' school. Fun, fun, fun.

365.14: My dirty cat. Cats are supposed to be clean. This is Rypien, (pronounced Rippen...named after the QB for the Redskins when Mark and I were dating). He is not a clean cat. Notice his toes.

365.15: And last, as well as least, it does a mother proud when her children can behave appropriately in public. Notice Jagadesh to the right PRETENDING to stick his finger up his nose. Zach didn't even try. My son, however...
Now I'm caught up. Hopefully I won't get this far behind again soon, but I can honestly say I have taken at least one picture every day! YAY!!

365 Project Day Eleven or 365.11

I'm stealing my sister's nomenclature. I like 365.11. :)
This was my view from my bedroom window this morning. There are days I really like where I live!

365 Project Day 10

Science Fair. These words strike terror into the hearts of parents everywhere!
This is what's left of SIX CUPS of styrofoam packing peanuts after adding 1 tablespoon of pure acetone! When we scraped it out of the bowl, there was actually less than a tablespoon of goo left. Totally cool.

365 Project Day Nine!!

I can't believe I've actually kept up with this for so long!
This is one of the nifty tattoos I got for Christmas from my nephew, Sean. Well, his mama got them for me, (THANKS, SISTER!), but aren't they the coolest??? Everyone at work was SO impressed!

365 Project Days 7 & 8

Whew. I was gone from 6:30 am to 10:00 pm yesterday, but did I get a picture taken? Of course! This is my stop sign. Well, not mine, but the stop sign I stand under from 6:50-7:40 every morning as a crossing guard for Bluebonnet Trail Elementary School.

The dip? Someone brought over some of Chuy's Jalapeno Ranch Dip the other day, and I'm an addict. I was playing around with recipes, and this is my first concoction. Not bad, but not Chuy's either. I'll keep working on it. But if you want to try it, here's how I started...
16 oz sour cream
1 small can diced jalapenos, drained
1 packet ranch dressing mix
1 t garlic powder
1 T cilantro
1 t lime juice
I put it all in the blender. I'm lazy.

365 Project Day 6

Hmm...UT tattoos. Whoopee...
Well, yeah, until you know that my husband was laid off in October and today found out that he had a job offer from the UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS!!!! YAY!
And besides that, my Sister gave me the tattoos, (by way of a Christmas present from my nephew),... so there! :)

365 Project Day 5

I can't explain it. Every time I pick up a camera, I feel like I'm cheating on the other one! I have to say that I really like both of them...the smaller one is great to carry everywhere and does video. The SLR is for 'important' pictures that I have time to mess with. So this picture is just to say, Canons, I love you both. :)

365 Project Day 4

What's all this? It's my Sunday morning routine. The cooler is full of flavored creamers (and eggnog this morning!). The carafes each hold a pot of coffee, and the big green Costco bag has sugar, powdered creamers, cups and lids. Oh yeah, and my Bible study stuff. :)
I'm really liking this project. It's forcing me to look at things in a whole new way...what's important to me and why? One of my friends, Amy, took a picture of someone holding a Wii remote. Just the hand. I love that! I imagine I'll steal that idea somehow as well. Lego games on the Wii have made up a great deal of our Christmas break...I like having a reason to think about the 'little' things...

Crop Update!!

The time has been chosen!
(I actually found out that my boys have a dance on Friday night!)
So, the crop is scheduled for Saturday, January 24th. We'll start at 10 and go till at least 3.

Come hang out with us! You can bring a snack if you like, but there's no obligation. (Some of us like trying out new recipes on the rest of the unsuspecting...)

365 Project...

Hey! Three days in a row! I'm so proud of myself. Here's today's picture. Pink Chicago Cubs Reeboks. I've noticed that as my boys grow, the testosterone level in my home becomes more and more unbearable. Somehow, pink seems to help. Go figure.
As soon as my picture protectors show up, I'll start working on the scrapbook side of the project. Then perhaps I'll get that posted as well...if I actually do it. ;)

365 Project

Okay, so my friend Kelley is doing this, I've seen it online and advertised, and now I'm doing it too!

365. Pictures. Yes. A picture a day, every day this year!!!

These are the first two I've chosen. The one of the family is from yesterday, and Austin and his Slinky is today's shot.

Anyone else up for the challenge? There are tons of ideas out there, and CK even has a kit for it!

I'm going to do this on my own, since I already own so many scrapbook supplies and I think I can fake my own kit. I'm going to order some 12 x 12 6 pocket photo pages, (Close To My Heart!) and use one pocket for a picture and the one beside it for journaling. (Yep, I'm even going to attempt to journal!) That way I can use 12 x 12 album, (which I already own) and any of my papers and embellishments I want!

I'm hoping, like Kelley, that if I put it out here, I'll make myself do it. Because I know if I don't, you guys will get on to me!!!!

Input Needed!

I need your input…
I have two possibilities for crop days in January. Friday, January 23rd, and/or Saturday the 24th. Here are your options. Let me know what works best for you, and I’ll let everyone know the plan!!!

Option A: Friday night. 6:30 PM till whenever

Option B: Saturday 10 AM-3 PM

Option C: LAN party style… starting Friday at 6:30 PM and going until Saturday night!!

(For those of you unfamiliar with the LAN experience…here’s a basic outline…

I. Come Over

A. Bring your scrapbook stuff

B. Bring a snack to share

II. Stay

A. Claim your seat, stay in it till you drop

1. Find a bed, chair, couch, tent, car, or spot on the floor and rest

2. Go home, sleep, come back

B. Come on Friday for as long as you can

C. Come on Saturday for as long as you can

D. Any combination of the above!

III. Shop or Borrow

A. I have some items here for sale

B. Borrow any of my stuff you’d like to use

C. Swap with other scrappers

Personally, I’m leaning toward Option C. Y’all let me know!
